– North Farm Bellingen

Just minutes from beautiful Bellingen North Farm a little patch of sub-tropical paradise, nestled in a valley within a valley with glorious views. They offer visitors a peaceful Retreat Space in a gorgeous natural setting – for larger groups seeking a gathering place for learning, healing or celebrating.  They also offer a relaxing and informative Farmstay Holiday – for families and friendship groups seeking a closer connection with nature’s rhythms and with farm animals.

North Farm offers spectacular views to the north, across Bongil Bongil National Park to the blue hills of Bindarri National Park. The 5 hectare property is blessed with several springs and a patch of remnant rainforest, and is used partly as grazing for dairy goats and partly as a wildlife reserve for a local koala colony.

The peaceful, natural setting at North Farm makes the hustle and bustle of modern life feel a million miles away … even though it’s just 5 minutes drive to Bellingen, with its funky and friendly shops, restaurants and markets. The coastal village of Urunga, and numerous lovely beaches are 20 minutes to the east, and world-heritage listed Dorrigo National Park is 30 minutes drive to the west.

Laura is the founder and lead teacher at SAMA Studio, Armidale, NSW. Laura was first introduced to yoga around 10 years of age, when she observed her childhood friend, Rosie, practicing yoga whilst on holiday together. It wasn’t until 2007 however that Laura became a regular student of yoga. She discovered her main teacher, Kate Pell, around this time and describes Kate’s classes like visiting home – full of heart, support and love. Around this time, Laura also developed a strong interest in Buddhist philosophy and meditation practices. In 2009, Laura began training with Kate to become a certified teacher and has been teaching yoga full time since 2013.

Laura holds over 1000 hours of formal yoga teacher training and has additional qualifications in pregnancy, postnatal, kids, partner and community yoga. She has studied intensively with Kate Pell, Noah Maze, Donna Farhi, Simon-Borg Olivier and Sue Scott in Australia and returns to India to continue studies with her teachers there, Rajiv and Swati Chanchani. Laura’s motivation to share her experience of yoga and the gifts the practice brings are in service to cultivating and strengthening a greater sense of Kula – (Community of Heart). Laura hopes to inspire a balanced and sensible approach to healthy living (starting with loving acceptance of Self) and encourages everyone, regardless of physical challenges to get on the mat.
