Zoe Navarre is a London-born Australian-based artist living and working on the Northern coast of New South Wales. Zoe studied Fine Arts after moving to Australia in 2002 and currently works under the guidance of her mentor, Terri Butterworth, the award winning Australian abstract artist.
Influences include the works of Paul Klee, the precision and craftsmanship of Albrecht Durer and the vibrant colour of Kandinsky.
Zoe has taken part in numerous group shows and has most recently exhibited in ‘Earth and Sky’ at the Matilda St Gallery, Macksville, alongside three other North coast artists.
Predominantly working in gouache and oils, Zoe’s brightly coloured abstract paintings are based on the shapes of the branches of eucalyptus trees, leaf litter, and the large-scale movements of the land itself, but also seek to explore the more ephemeral subjects of the sense of connection felt through the natural world, and ultimately the oneness that underpins all existence.
