Private Yoga Class

A ‘one on one’ private yoga session for those who feel they need a little more individual attention. In this session you will receive specific personalised instruction, encouraging a deeper understanding of your class work & home yoga practice. Private yoga sessions are available by appointment only, in both Coffs Harbour and Armidale NSW.

Pregnancy and Birth Preparation Private Class

A class for the Mummy’s to be. Be nurtured and supported in a calm and tranquil environment. Learn specific yoga poses that bring relief to common pregnancy complaints (such as reflux, back/hip pain and breathlessness), ways to support your pelvic floor and birth skills to take from pregnancy into labor and birth. You will relax into your pregnancy and approach your babies birthing day with calm and confidence – full of trust in your abilities, your baby, your choices, your care providers and the process of pregnancy and birth.

As it is advised to take plenty of rest in the first trimester, prenatal classes are open to all pregnant women (whether current yoga practitioners or new to yoga altogether) once past their first trimester. Partners welcome, group classes available on request.

Maureen's Yoga Story: From Crippling Pain to Freedom

So I think it was about 18 months ago when I started coming to SAMA Studio, I was very scared because I’d had a very bad injury. Well it wasn’t really an injury it was a problem with my neck and bony spurs that was a nerve problem and it practically crippled me. During that time I tore a rotator cuff and didn’t even notice it because the pain of that was nothing compared to the nerve pain.I was getting nowhere with doctors and decided I was going to do something about it. And anything I tried to do at home didn’t work, or it made it worse. Then my daughter said “Let’s go to yoga” so I thought “Me? Yoga? Really?”. I’ll give it a go. And I was so scared that I was going to make it worse because it was really quite crippling.
