2019 Yoga Teacher
Training Course

Your training will commence in  August 2019. Contact hours will be completed by May 2020. 

You’ll be committing to 310 hours of face to face training on the physical aspects of Yoga and meditation – enabling you to teach confidently – beginners, restorative and general level classes.

Come and join us! Here’s your opportunity to awaken through the artful practice of Yoga, discovering and embodying both ancient wisdom and modern day knowledge as you learn from three of the most knowledgeable, enthusiastic and dedicated Yoga Teachers around.

This is a comprehensive year long training that values face to face, real time learning. With a strong emphasis on functional anatomy and physiology, you can also expect a detailed delve into philosophy giving you a useable toolkit of knowledge and skill to access on your onward journey as a qualified (and successful) Yoga Teacher. 

You’ll be tending to the garden of the Heart, developing deep wisdom and self understanding as you welcome yourself to all of your life. A desire to teach is not essential, you can also simply use this course for deepening your own understanding of self and the fruitful practice that is Yoga. New friendships will form and laughs guaranteed.

Course outline

  • Yogic Philosophy –Nondulist Tantric Shaivism, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
  • Pranayama – slow and fast rhythms
  • Yoga Asana – alignment, adjusting and sequencing
  • Meditation – Anapana, Metta, Mindfullness, Nueroscience
  • Yogic Physiology of the Chakras, Koshas and Pranavayus
  • Nadis, Meridians, Bodywork
  • Functional anatomy and physiology
  • Yoga teaching skills – observation, adjustment and sequencing
  • Sanskrit, Mantra, Mudra and Iconography 
  • Basic business skills


Course practice

A series of weekend workshops have been designed and will be led primarily by Laura. You’ll delight in Arpana’s memorable delivery of anatomy and physiology – fun, functional, applicable! Amy will also be joining us, sharing from the philosophy viewpoint.

Create a deep and long lasting relationship with Yoga asana, pranayama and meditation over these 8 x 3 day intensive workshops and realise your ability to teach and share your yoga with others. 

Explore and study in-depth: healthy biomechanics of Yoga Asana and Postural Alignment, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Functional Anatomy and Physiology, Yogic Physiology, Chakra Systems, Meridians and Nadis, Integrative Practice and Teaching Methodology including Adjustment in Asana and Specialised Teaching Skills. 


Included – A Six Day Yoga Retreat !

Immerse yourself in Yoga and surround yourself with like-minded people on their own journey of deepening their knowledge and self-discovery in beautiful and iconic Byron Bay.

You’ll be accessing two to three yoga practices a day, daily meditation and embrace the discovery of ancient mantras that quiet and focus the mind. You’ll also enjoy Yoga Nidra and self body work.

8 x Home Study Packs

Consolidate your learnings via modulated home study packs that review the Anatomy, Asana, Yoga Philosophy and Physiology into manageable, progressive pieces. 

You will also be required to complete journalling exercises (Svadhyaya/Self Study), some assignment writing and will be asked to refer to the booklist for further reading. Outside of your self practice time we suggest you allocate a minimum 5 hours a month. 




Observing and assisting Laura during class

Observe or join in for Laura’s classes to the public, followed by discussion and feedback on the class – concerns and considerations, structure and sequencing.

This training is a Self-development course that will also give you the necessary tools to make Yoga teaching a new career direction for you. It is for those who desire to deepen their own knowledge and practice of yoga as well as for those who seriously wish to make Yoga teaching a personal profession. Don’t feel you must need to want to become a teacher to join the course; an urge to grow and awaken to life’s richness without the desire to teach is enough. It is recommended that you have a minimum of 2 years Yoga practice before applying, or be studying regularly with Laura already.
