Certification Training

Level 1 – Thai Yoga Massage for Wellness

Tuesday 23rd July to Saturday 27th July 2019

and

Level 2 – Thai Yoga Massage for Balance

Monday 29th July to 1st August 2019.

Like Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage is a form of bodywork done fully-clothed on the floor. Based in the ancient practices of Traditional Thai Medicine with heavy influences from Yoga, Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, this form of massage incorporates focused work on the energy lines of the body (Sen) while the receiver is moved and stretched into a variety of yoga-like positions and compression massage techniques are employed. The body is treated as a whole, safely and slowly pulled, stretched and rocked. The combination of passive movement and assisted stretching opens the joints, releases connective tissues and increases circulation, leaving the recipient moving more easily and feeling both calm and invigorated.

This Thai Yoga Massage training focuses on the art of giving and receiving safely. Developing this skill in yourself will help you to develop it in your clients. You will notice a consistent theme of self-care and practice in all Marissa’s trainings. If we do not first take care of ourselves, we are unable to effectively take care of others; if we are unable to find ease within ourselves, we cannot effectively create space for others; this all takes practice. The more we practice Thai Yoga Massage, the more we are able to cultivate Metta and ease, enjoying our work and our lives.

Each training will prepare you to give a professional-level Thai Yoga Massage. The special focus of each training will help you to deepen your practice, no matter what your practitioner level. While it is recommended that you begin your study with Thai Yoga Massage for Wellness, all trainings are multi-level.

Thai Yoga Massage for Balance

Certification Training

Thai Yoga Massage for Balance focuses on improving the function of Sen Ida and Pingala; these unilateral lines each govern one side of the body, much like the Ida and Pingala Nadis in Yoga. By encouraging flow and ease along these lines we bring balance not just to mind and body in a uniquely soothing bodywork sequence consisting of movement, stretching, intention and direct pressure. Enhancing this 1.5 hour bodywork sequence is a unique Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton) sequence for the practitioner that creates greater physical ease for Thai Yoga Massage and everyday activities. 32 CEUs/hours.
